Session: Engaging With Your Top Fans using Data Insights
There is a wealth of data now available to connect artists and fans together. We know that traditionally the top fans help generate the most amount of revenue for artists through concert tickets, merchandise, experiences and music sales. How do we keep these fans engaged without exhausting their enthusiasm and bank accounts? What works best? Which platforms are best suited?
As head of Strategic Partnerships for the Creator Team at Spotify, Shane is focused on creating and delivering new opportunities, data insights, and additional value for artists, managers, labels and the entire music ecosystem.
Previously, Tobin ran Business Development and Partnerships for The Echo Nest from 2011 until they were acquired by Spotify in March of 2014. Before that, he ran music teams and partnerships for MobiTV, imeem, House of Blues Digital in addition to artist management for the Grammy nominated band, Yerba Buena.
When he’s not working on music, Shane plays golf, snowboards, travels with his camera and visits the city of New Orleans as much as possible. He lives in San Francisco with his wife and son.
